I am speechless.. Because I cant understand or utter Bangla. :) except for the popularly over-used "ami tumake bhalo...." [which I had learnt to impress someone in school and she ran away saat samandar paar when I said it].

BTW, is this a poem you wrote? Please help me with the context.. I am trying to be a regular visitor to your blog as I really loved some of your older posts (especially Arziyan which brought me here in the first place).

And just one request.. u seem to be so poetic and sentimental. Can we have a serving of Tagore once in a while? Can u do it for us Sunrise?

    Best regards!

I am a simple girl with limited resources. I don't think I have the ability to translate this poem into english and be able to do justice to it. I fear getting biased in the process...

Have asked someone to do it on my behalf. Hoping he obliges sometime soon...Going by the records, this person has never obliged me, but he is the best I know and could approach..

In the meantime, if any of you feel you will be able to do justice to this poem...You are welcome...

    deeply moving and dreamy....well done...

    Very nice!

wow... this is beautiful.. I actually havn't seen someone writing in bangla last 16 years I guess.. suddenly saw this one from urs, whoosh ur handwriting is goddamn beautiful.. don't know how to express but that. u doing PGDM and writing bangla poems?! on my!

can't gather my thoughts though. blown to bits maybe which I shouldn't be at this time and age.

    The English version:

On dark nights, the lonely me...gaze at the moon...
Even amidst millions of stars, find him alone...
When in dark, my lamp didn't glow...
When this night shall pass, I do not know...
But my unswerving hope for dawn,
Kept my regard for the sky in-tune...
