Thanks for putting up the lyrics! I love this song! :)

My pleasure Ritwik...but did you understand the lyrics? I do not understand Chandril's lyrics at all :(

    Amazing song, very soothing.

Its true Sunrita... Chandril's lyrics are very very abstract with no relation with the previous lines...!!!

This song is very abstract...Infact all of Chandril's(of Bangla band Chandrabindu fame) compositions are extremely abstract. It is beyond me to comment on the lyrics and its meaning. Sorry :)
    Thanks Vishal for dropping by.

    Hi Sunrita,

I am a Bengali by marriage and though I have been trying to pick up some Bengali in the last few months since my marriage, my Bengali is still pretty bad. I have seen Antaheen (with subtitles) and loved the movie ... and loved all the songs ... but most particularly this one ... but I don't understand the words. Could you pls translate into Hindi / English (as convenient) for me?

    Thanks and regards !!!

    Hi Sunita,

I am not a bengali, but I always loved Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali songs in general. I live in U.S and I heard this song from someone's collection on in.com and I wanted to find lyrics. Thank you for posting the lyrics. It is very beautifully sung.

    Thank you

    Sree

This has subtitles for the song as well...

somebody pls help me to understand meaning of this song

Sunrita, hadn't visited your blog for a long time now. Well, I had no difficulty in understanding the lyrics of this song. I must admit, however, that it is hard to translate. This song has a very lyrical poetry, and only someone who is an expert in both Bengali as well as Hindi/English should attempt a translation. I'd prefer a Hindi translation because there are nuances in this song that will probably not have equivalent expressions in English.

thanks for the lyrics of 'Jao Pakhi'. A type of song which can make a good mood better and a sad one good.

thanks for the lyrics of "Jao Pakhi". Its a type of song that suits every mood. a good mood becomes better and a bad one good. Shreya Ghosal is one of the best in our country.

    @Me Mummy

Pls upload the lines. I really want to understand the meaning.
    Thanks and will be grateful.

Well This lyric is wonderful and ultimate romantic.
This song describe the situation where lead actress is in deep love.
There is one line called (jale hariecho kaan shonaki) actuall a reference has been drawn from UPONISHODH where radha had lost her earring(dul) in Jamuna while she was in a deep thought of Krishna. Here kaan shona is indicating that earring and the entire scinario is indicating that wonderful romance.

    just speechless....

The best bangla movie i have ever seen.:)

Here is the English translation, I am pretty sure its official translation

    ---------------------
Go fly bird sing breezes blowing
    Misty the window glass
Have I lost me Or could it be
    A fairy tale at last?
    Here and there, fireflies spark
Golden moon lost in waters dark
In the window piled clouds above
Go cloud go, keep an eye on my love..

Go fly bird sing breezes blowing
    Misty the window glass
Have I lost me Or could it be
    A fairy tale at last?

    Alap...

Go fly bird sing breezes blowing
    Misty the window glass
    Have I lost me
Or could it be a fairy tale at last?
    Here and there, fireflies spark
Golden moon lost in waters dark
In the window piled clouds above
Go cloud go, keep an eye on my love

Go fly bird sing breezes blowing
    Misty the window glass
    Have I lost me...

    ----------------------

I dont feel its that abstract. Its a mind blowing song.
